Aramm - The government official behind me

Image
Watched the movie Aramm - and felt the story close to my heart. The story was weaved around a government officer, having a mission of rescuing a little girl from a deep pit, dug for a futile search of water. She had a lot of people to handle like the girl’s parents, the public, MLA, Minister, media and her own staff. Pressure around her was tremendously built with all of their opinions, disapprovals, ideas, emotional responses, etc. Yet, she was supposed to think straight and win the situation. Else someone dies. When my mother brought home such stories, I really never understood the magnitude and the intensity of the situations she would have just faced. All I knew was that, my mother was always expected to be late for the dinner.   Like every other child in the neighborhood, I would like to play in the evenings with my friends. But my mother sent me to tuition as otherwise I would be all alone since she would not be back at home to attend me. During elections, my father takes ca

Hindu Monk and his Holy Medicine

Image
After his death, a Hindu monk went to Yamaloka on his judgment day. Evaluated on his reserves of good and bad deeds, he was ordered to be sent to Hell. Shocked terribly, he argued with the executives there but his explanations could not broker an escape. He wanted a fair trial with the God himself to explain his stand before the judgment was executed. Luckily, his demand was heard heard after quite a few arguments. He was escorted to the God's palace. God thundered, "Why are you here? Judgments were written unbiased and to the fairest possible extent. You shall not be pardoned, whatsoever may be your concern. Anyhow, I will hear how may you try persuading me".  Saluting the God, the monk started, “Lord, I was a hermit who lived alongside the serene valleys of Vindhyas. I followed my duties of worshiping you and serving the ill-trodden till my last breath. With my education on human diseases and medicines, I had prolonged the lifetimes of many. I foresaw that a

Book Review : Invincible Arjuna!

Image
To begin with, this is more than a book and it is almost a pocket guide for an effective refined living. The thoughtfulness showcased in the book was so compelling that I was pushed to write my first book review. As the name suggests it talks about the great hero Arjuna. There were a lot of attributes that Arjuna attained either on self penance or by the wishes of his masters/gurus which made him invincible. Two important people guided his paths to glory. Drona, his guru on warfare just had an objective of producing the greatest warrior in Arjuna. In the due process, he was unfair and unjust to all other fellow students who had greater devotion and dexterity like Eklavya. On the other hand, Krishna, his friend, played tricks to make victory a habit for Arjuna. His luciferous answers to all doubts arose within Arjuna provided atmost stability and poise. Five prime negativities to be avoided for person with an aim to achieve are Ego, Anxiety, Lust, Greed and Jealousy. Arjuna caref

J Jayalalithaa Ennum Naan...

When I was studying in school I met her the closest. By then Ariyalur was not a district. Near the bus stand, there lies a rountana which directs the main road along two ways. I with my friends went to attend her general address before an election. Generally my parents won't allow to visit political gatherings, still I went uninformed. She came in a remodeled tempo traveler with a mike. She started,  "First of all I apologize for being late. Next time I shall be on time to thank you all for electing us because by then the roads through which I came would be different". Then she bestowed her thunderous speech. Manifestos I guess, which I did not give all ears. I was happy to fight the crowd, shout and we guys did not know why we were there, yet we enjoyed. She finished her speech with her signature "Anna namam vazhga! MGR namam vazhga!" Her caravan slowly crossed us. I saw her at about 10m or less. She used to be whiter than what we look in television sets. That

Practising Medicine is to save lives!!!

I have heard fathers and mothers praying to doctors "Please save my son at any cost". It is an undeniable fact that doctors sometimes become god, reserving all the faiths of many parents, brothers, sisters and others. If you pick a random guy in our country and ask which is the most profitable business here, it is with high probability that he may say 'Politics'. But that's not completely true. There are people who are also on the run! All your organs are gifts of nature. Do you know their market value? Many hospitals target casualties, particularly accident cases. They admit them with smiling faces. They analyse the condition and start playing as if the condition is very serious even if that is not the case. With cold blood, after a few days of drama, they kill the patient and take out all the organs that can be transplanted. There are many buyers for hearts, livers, kidneys, etc., both here and abroad! A healthy body is worthy of 40 crores. They suck as much

Lay offs...

The organization doesn't know the impact on the employee when he is just said to walk away from the job one day due to many reasons for which he is not directly responsible! He might have a number of commitments & plans which he must attend to with his income like loans, etc. Now where he will go when his salary is stopped suddenly. In case of recessions he might think of a backup plan and make his position ready expecting a down fall. Here the organization did not give him time except the notice period of a few days.. Let us think for what he is removed from the job. For working so well and getting continuous good grades? If so he is costing much for the company than his peers and he shall be removed! Or for getting low grades for which the inefficiencies of the employees is not only accountable as we all know in this country people play politics even to fetch milk for the infants? So as an employee you are confused to the point that your seat is volatile whether you work or
