Facebook to launch video chat facility powered by Skype...

Facebook is the first ranking social networking website in the internet. It has about 750 million active users as of July, 2011. Mark Zuckerburg, the co-founder of Facebook, is dubbed today as the youngest self-made billionaire in history. Facebook, started by a few college students in a dorm room, has offices in around 15 countries and has more than 2000 employees today. Alexa, Quantcast and complete.com ranks Facebook, the 2nd in overall user traffic. According to estimations, Facebook has earned US$2 billion in 2010. The website is available in many popular languages.
Facebook is to introduce a new zesty facility to its users which is the video chat in the mid of July. The website is to set up a tie with the internet telephony giant, Skype. Skype provides video and audio communication between users through internet. It has more than 170 million active users and is very popular because of its cost effectiveness. On 10 May, 2011, Microsoft had agreed to buy Skype for US$8.5 billion and if the deal gets finished, Skype will be a division within Microsoft.
Facebook has complaints from many parents that their children are nearly addicted to the website and spend more time with it, than with their routine. A report says there are nearly 8 million children below 13 years of age having accounts in Facebook, which is a clear violation of the website rules. Apart from children, youths and even elders feel that they are tied down before the fascination of using Facebook. Now this new facility shall boost their enthusiasm in using the site further more.
Many of the social networking experts feel that Skype has a chance of getting a massive popularity after joining hands with Facebook. While some feel that, number of users of Skype’s video chat through Facebook will increase, decreasing the number of direct users of Skype and this may reduce the individual popularity of Skype.
